Shinzō Shikkan 心臓疾患 (Heart Disease)
In the previous issue, I spoke about high blood pressure and heart failure as diseases of the blood circulation system, but I am still bombarded with questions about heart disease every day, and many famous people, acquaintances, and friends have suddenly died from heart disease, which seems so sad, so I would like to reprint with a little more detail a passage from issue 61 of this magazine, which gives examples of how acupressure can help people recover and clearly shows the secret lines that stimulate the body, in order to answer questions and at the same time pray for the speedy recovery and return to normal for those with general heart disease.
Heart Disease Healed by Koho Shiatsu
Eight years of struggling with heart disease! What happened during the two months of my Kyushu missionary journey, when my second son, Toshio Okuyama, was a year old, he cried day and night, probably because he had stars in his eyes
Heart Disease, the Leading Cause of Sudden Death
My wife was shocked and rushed to an eye hospital, where she begged the director to treat her, and after more than a month of injections, the pain subsided, but he was left blind in one eye. I returned to the school immediately after and continued to look after him under the care of the Imperial Family, but it was all to no avail. However, he went on to elementary, junior high, and high school, and entered Daito Bunka University as the first student to pass the entrance exam, and has been there for three years now.
Last August, I was invited by my classmate Kobayashi-kun to celebrate his birthday and went to Kurihashi-cho (on the Tone River border between Saitama and Ibaraki prefectures), where Shizuka Gozen’s grave and belongings are located.
While chatting with the family of a classmate, I learned of a poor man with the same last name as my classmate, Kobayashi Toshikatsu, who was about 30 years old and had been suffering from heart disease for about 8 or 9 years since he collapsed. Although we were not related, the parents had seen the book and asked if there was any way they could give him some acupressure treatment. The next day, Toshio’s eyes were serious as he asked where he should apply acupressure to help cure him.
Shihan Junji Saito Writes a Report to Okuyama Sensei About His Training at the Yoshitsune Dojo
I suddenly came to the US for urgent business. I was greeted by Shihan Mike Depasquale Sr., owner of Yoshitsune Hakko-ryu Dojo in Closter, New Jersey, and went to the dojo. I teach Hakko-ryu Jujutsu every day except Sundays from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. It has been a long time since I last saw such lively young people practicing Hakko-ryu seriously under the solemn guidance of Shihan Depasquale and Shihan Ninomiya.
Shihan Depasquale’s goal is to perfect one’s character through Hakko-ryu, and for this reason, some of his students come from far away, including doctors and lawyers with important positions in society. There are also 50 children in the junior division, and the youngest ones come to the dojo accompanied by their parents or older siblings. All of them begin with a solemn courtesy (a deep bow to the photo of Okuyama Soke) and in New York, I also teach at a women’s college.
I believe this is my motivation and I am determined to do so. I would also like to express my gratitude for the many commemorative gifts and precious gifts I received. It was a great pleasure to visit the school for the first time in ten years. The guidance and words of the head teacher were the same, and I felt like I was back ten years ago. I returned to the Honbu on the 7th, and on the evening of the 9th, a celebration of the birth of a new Shihan was held in Sapporo, sponsored by the training association, and when I was given a purple belt by my senior teacher, Shihan Shukuno, I was once again reminded of my determination to be a Totenkou member. From now on, I will follow the instructions of the head teacher, hone my mind and refine my skills, and work hard on the path of Hakko-ryu, with the goal of reforming myself and becoming a person who is useful to others. Although it may be a snail’s pace, I will continue to work hard.
After the ceremony, we bowed again, and it was the first time in a long time that I felt comfortable in America. We also teach at St. Vincent College in the north of New York every Tuesday night (called the Hakko-ryu Jujitsu Training Hall, a 100-tatami gymnasium) where we practice just as well as the men, and like the Yoshitsune dojo, we teach under the solemn command of starting and ending with a bow. This is my first visit to the United States in seven years, and during that time, I am very happy that Hakko-ryu Jujutsu has become very well-known here. Please take a look at the enclosed photos:
- Attending the Yoshitsune Dojo for the first time in ten years.
- Yubari City Yamazaki Sadami.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude and deep appreciation for your special consideration and various help that allowed me to advance to the rank of Shihan. I am truly grateful for the Shodai Soke’s license ceremony and celebration held at “Tohtenkou” since the establishment of the Omiya headquarters. I will never forget this feeling and will continue to devote my life to Hakko-ryu.
Welcome to Takaaki Oura
Harufumi Suzuki, Sapporo! I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the warm guidance and re-instruction of the master’s techniques at this Renshi-kai. Fortunately, I was able to attend the master’s permission ceremony for five people at the honorable Renshi-kai. I am deeply grateful. We have decided to hold a welcome party for Advisor Oura as follows. It will be held on June 18th at 7pm in the large hall of Ezo Goten, with about 40 people. In addition, two of my disciples, Mr. Nunohiro (Muroran City) and Mr. Seino (Sapporo City), who are masters of the Saneda style and perform the Shocho Oiwake-bushi, will perform Hokkaido folk songs.
